El Prat de Llobregat, December 16, 2020
Dear brothers in Christ,
I hope that you are all well, in the midst of these times clouded by the Covid-19 pandemic, and that the Lord, who is the safe haven of our souls, fills you with peace and comfort in Christ.
For a long time I have had in my heart to write this letter, which has taken longer than it should, but at all times my feeling has been to express the love and gratitude that I feel for you. I personally feel indebted to your work of love for me, since the gospel reached me through this work. Furthermore, the church to which I belong and serve as a pastor is also the result in part of your love and support, which has undoubtedly been motivated by the grace of our beloved Savior. It would take a long time to tell here all the blessings that the Lord has given us, and I would probably not finish this letter that I want to send you as soon as possible, but I know how much of the help received has been thanks to your prayers, and also to your offerings. I thank you on behalf of the whole church for the offering you gave us after the death of Neil, our beloved brother in Christ and pastor for many years and for me a spiritual father, whom I will always carry with gratitude and affection in my heart. For this, we say thank you, thank you, and a thousand thanks with all our hearts.
After 35 years in which the church has been meeting on Avenida Remolar in El Prat de Llobregat, we have had to make the decision to change places. In the church at the moment we are about 20 adults who remain faithful and dedicated to the work of the Lord, but it is not easy for us to sustain the work financially. As you know, I continue to maintain my secular work, and thanks to this I can continue to contribute to the expenses of the church together with the other brothers, and the truth is that we have had a scarce economy in recent years.
We fully trust in God’s help and thank him for his provision for our needs. In the month of October we left the premises we had and the Lord gave us another one for which we paid less, although we have to prepare it so that it can be used as a place of worship. That means an investment in the opening project and the materials to condition the premises, especially because of the soundproofing and everything that they ask us to comply with the regulations in relation to the premises destined to carry out worship services. We are doing all the work ourselves, in order to save as much as we can, but our funds are almost exhausted.
I am not telling you all this so that you feel a burden for us, because in reality we are very happy for everything that God is doing in us this time, clearly seeing his hand in our lives in many ways, healing wounds, restoring hearts and growing spiritually. for the glory of God!
We thank you for the offering that you sent us, because it came to us at a time when we needed it to move the church. We trust in God’s provision, and we will continue to give with all our strength so that the church will move forward to continue proclaiming the gospel and fulfilling the great commission that God has given us.
Kisses and hugs brothers, send them to the whole family and brothers that we deeply love, sharing the hope of being together with the Lord for all eternity.
Yours forever in Christ
Javi
